About Peptide Therapy

Peptide therapy is a minimally invasive treatment designed to help improve various health and wellness concerns. Peptides are short chains of amino acids, also known as the building blocks of proteins. (1) Peptides play an important role in many internal processes and biological functions, including hormone regulation, cell signaling, immune response, and more. (2)

CJC-1295

CJC-1295 is a synthetic peptide designed to stimulate the release of growth hormone (GH) to help improve muscle development, metabolize fat, improve one’s energy levels, and recover quicker after intensive workouts or injuries. When CJC-1295 is injected, it binds to the growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) receptors, mimicking its function to stimulate the pituitary gland to release more GH. (3) CJC-1295 is administered under the skin and may either be taken daily or once a week, depending on the effects being sought.

BPC-157

BPC-157, also known as Body Protection Compound-157, is a peptide that is naturally found in human gastric fluids. This peptide can help support tissue healing, particularly in tendons, ligaments, skeletal muscle, and bone, as well as angiogenesis, or the production of new blood vessels from existing ones. (4) This peptide may be delivered via injection or orally each day.

Ibutamoren (MK-677)

Ibutamoren is a growth hormone secretagogue (GHS) that mimics ghrelin, a hunger-related hormone, to stimulate a sustained release of GH and Insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). (5) This supplement is typically taken orally and can support muscle growth and strength, enhance metabolism, improve joint health, and may even improve sleep quality.

Ipamorelin Acetate

Ipamorelin Acetate is a synthetic peptide that stimulates the release of GH by imitating ghrelin. When administered, the peptide binds to the GHS receptors in the pituitary gland, triggering the release of GH to help reduce visible aging, enhance recovery, and increase muscle mass. This peptide is often delivered subcutaneously and is popular for its anti-aging properties and easy tolerability.

Benefits of Peptide Therapy

Suitable Candidates

Suitable candidates for peptide therapy include anyone interested in enhancing their overall health and wellness. Generally speaking, candidates seeking peptide therapy are often interested in:

  • Improving the quality of their sleep and reducing fatigue.
  • Reducing inflammation and enhancing the quality and health of their skin and tissue.
  • Managing the signs and symptoms of aging.
  • Quicker recovery after procedures, injuries, or athletic performances.
  • Rebalancing their body’s natural hormone levels.
  • Using natural, regenerative treatments.

All candidates interested in peptide therapy should be in good overall health with realistic expectations as to what this treatment can accomplish. A professional will determine each patient’s candidacy during their personal consultation.

Personal Consultation

Before starting their treatment, each patient is asked to attend a personal consultation at our Berkeley office. This meeting not only allows us to meet each patient but also to recommend the best treatment for their needs. When you arrive for your consultation, our injector will meet with each patient. They will ask a series of questions regarding their medical history, current medications, concerns, and treatment goals.

Once enough information has been gathered, the injector will then develop a treatment plan, customizing certain aspects to help each patient achieve their goals. Any necessary preparation and recovery instructions will also be provided, as well as a written quote. We encourage each patient to prepare and ask questions, and raise any concerns they may have. This consultation is time dedicated to the patient and their specific procedure, and we want each of our patients to feel informed and empowered about their treatment.

Procedure

Peptides can be administered topically, orally, or through injections. At Nubo Spa, we deliver them primarily through injections. Injecting peptides can help deliver the formula into the bloodstream faster, allowing the body to benefit from their properties quickly.

Our peptide treatments can either be administered at our office, or they can be administered in the comfort of your own home. Our injector can help instruct each patient on how to properly administer their treatment, usually through an injection in the arm or thigh. Peptides are commonly taken daily, similar to vitamins and supplements, but some may be administered weekly.

Recovery and Results

As there is no downtime associated with peptide therapy, each patient will be able to return to their daily schedule immediately following the treatment. Patients may experience tenderness, slight swelling, or redness at the injection sites, but these effects are temporary and will subside on their own within a day. The injector will provide any further recovery instructions during each patient’s consultation.

Each patient will start to notice the effects of their peptides several weeks after starting treatment. The results may vary depending on the type of peptide administered and the effects sought. Generally speaking, patients can experience effects such as an improvement in sleep, reduced body fat, enhanced metabolism, collagen synthesis, improvements in skin quality, and more.

Corresponding Procedures

We offer a wide array of treatments that can be performed to complement the effects of our peptide therapy. The most popular treatments include our facials and our Vivace RF microneedling treatment.

  • Facials: We offer several different types of facials to help each patient rejuvenate their skin. Our medical-grade facials are designed to repair and restore each patient’s skin, leaving them glowing and radiant. Each facial can be fully customized for each patient, offering benefits such as skin detoxification, improved circulation, reduced acne, and more.
  • Vivace RF Microneedling: Vivace RF Microneedling is a skin treatment that combines microneedling with radiofrequency (RF) energy to help reduce the appearance of facial aging and skin laxity. This treatment helps stimulate the production of collagen, leading to an overall improvement in the quality, texture, and tone of each patient’s skin.
