About Daxxify 

As a neuromodulator, Daxxify targets the facial muscle layer, not the skin itself. It shouldn’t be confused with dermal filler treatments like Restylane or Juvéderm which work to provide more hydration and volume to the skin. Instead, Daxxify blocks a chemical substance called acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter within muscle cells that signals contraction and relaxation. 

By strategically applying Daxxify to certain facial muscles, injectors can block acetylcholine and create smoother, subtly more elevated skin in areas of concern. Daxxify’s main ingredient is botulinum toxin, a protein that has been widely studied and used for decades for both cosmetic and medical purposes. When applied to resolve signs of facial aging, it can prevent and treat: 

As a more resilient formulation, your injector can apply Daxxify to create a longer-lasting “lip flip”, a minor enhancement to the upper lips that creates a more defined pout. By targeting the orbicularis oris muscle, the skin of the upper lip elevates and reveals more of the lip skin. Medical Uses for Botulinum Toxin 

When used in small amounts, botulinum toxin has successfully treated several muscular disorders and health issues unrelated to aesthetic rejuvenation. Patients can find relief from jaw pain and headaches; it can also treat one of the root causes of masseter hypertrophy, a common but painful problem called temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ). Preparation

Since Daxxify could cause some mild and temporary skin discoloration, your injector will require that you refrain from taking medications or supplements with blood-thinning properties, as these can worsen bruising. They will review your current medication list to ensure there aren’t any that could interfere with your Daxxify treatment. Before your appointment, you should arrive with a freshly cleaned face that is makeup-free and free of any skincare products.

Procedure Steps 

Daxxify is considered a “lunchtime” procedure because of how quick and easy it is. The skilled injectors at Nubo Spa understand how the elevator and depressor muscles of the face function, allowing them to target the correct ones to produce the best outcomes. Depressor muscles move downward when they contract, so administering Daxxify to these muscles will allow them to expand and relax. Conversely, elevator muscles will retract downward since they normally function by elevating certain areas of the face. After your injector cleanses your face, they will ask you to make various facial expressions so they will be able to mark out the exact locations of each muscle. This will allow them to carefully place Daxxify where it is needed and avoid adjacent areas. The procedure is comfortable due to the presence of lidocaine in Daxxify and the use of extremely thin needles. 

For the treatment of “crow’s feet”, your injector will identify and inject the orbicularis oculi muscles, and for the elimination of frown lines between the eyebrows, they may inject the glabellar complex. Forehead lines require fewer units (the dosage measurement) of Daxxify since over-injection can make the frontalis muscle, the forehead muscle, move downward, causing brow descent. To avoid this, your injector will also be sure to administer it superficially. The average procedure takes about 20 minutes, and you will be able to go home or back to work immediately afterward.  

Recovery and Results 

After a Daxxify session, you can go back to sedentary work, but you should avoid doing anything strenuous for at least 4 hours. You may have a mild headache and/or slight sensitivity at the injection sites, but this will completely subside within 1 to 2 days. You should be mindful of keeping your head elevated, allowing the Daxxify to settle in without migrating to other muscles. Unwanted migration can result in a slight downward skin pull that can make you look older. However, Nubo Spa injectors are knowledgeable on the proper dosage, depth of administration, and locations to promote the quality results you’re looking for. 

Although you will notice immediate changes, the full effects won’t be apparent until a few days have passed. You will then get to enjoy more youthful, healthier-looking skin without displaying the wrinkles that give away your age.
